$200.00 an hour and a typical session is usually 4-7 hours. Multiple sessions are to be expected especially for larger pieces. I never know how long/how much something is going to be to actually complete. I can give my estimate for smaller/simpler pieces but I never know for sure especially for larger pieces. There are so many factors that determine time aside from the design/size itself. All cases and pieces vary, this is just general information covering the usual. I do require a half down deposit to secure an appointment.
How long before I can schedule my next session?
A minimum of 8 weeks is required for healing time and before you can get tattooed over the same area again. This ensures all of the dermis layers are fully healed.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. Half down (price of session), non refundable and goes toward the total.
When do I get to see the design?
Every artist’s approach is different when it comes to designing and presenting the design idea to you. For me, once you have communicated your design ideas and subject matter to me, I will custom design your piece a day or two prior to your appointment. You will get to see the design in person ON your appointment day and from there we can make adjustments as/if needed. However, some cases differ and require me to design and gather references on your appointment day.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Anything comfortable is great. Clothing that is loose and easy to move around as needed. Also clothing that you don’t mind getting torn or stained.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
You should bring a valid ID, proper payment and snacks and drinks to consume throughout the day…And a happy attitude.
Why do I need to eat prior to my appointment?
Your blood sugar levels are effected while getting tattooed. You burn tons of energy and sugar while getting tattooed. To prevent yourself from passing out, eating a big meal loaded with complex carbs and is healthy and filling will help you sustain energy and feel good throughout the session. Depending on how long your session is, you will be strongly encouraged to eat a meal or two (with snacks) throughout the session as well.
What will ensure a good session?
You should get plenty of rest the night before your appointment, have a well-balanced meal for breakfast and a good meal before your appointment. Refrain from drinking large amounts of alcohol before and after your session. Come with a good attitude and open to the artists design ideas and creative expression.
Does a “watercolor” tattoo fade more than other styles of tattoo?
Although every person heals differently no matter the style of tattoo, this is a HUGE implied misconception I hear almost everyday. There is no “special” procedure, and the “watercolor tattoo” is a mere effect. It looks soft and painted on your skin, however it’s fully saturated color and you are still getting tattooed like any other tattoo you have received. How you heal depends on the skill-set of the artist and your overall health, how well you take care of the tattoo during aftercare and how exposed you are to the sun overall….just like ANY other tattoo.
How much are “touch ups”?
$200.00 an hour.
How should I take care of my new tattoo?
Before you leave your appointment, your artist will explain their suggested aftercare method with you and provide you with a set of instructions on paper to refer back to.
How do I prevent infection?
Although rare and every circumstance differs, the best way is to practice common sense and follow the aftercare suggestions of your tattoo artist.
